Anthea is Nearing Completion Downtown

It’s hard to believe, but construction on Anthea at The Granite is near completion. Crews are currently laying tile in the bathrooms, and installing awnings on the suite patios. Next week, cabinets and wood flooring will go in, followed by the granite countertops. Piece by piece this luxurious downtown complex is coming to life.

“It’s exciting times as something new gets installed every day,” says Scott Eldredge, Anthea General Manager.

Beginning July 27, Eldredge will begin taking serious potential tenants on tours of Anthea. To arrange a tour, email seldredge@antheallc.com.

Anthea Now Leasing

Anthea at The Granite, Albuquerque’s only high-end extended stay complex in the downtown area, is now leasing its 23 suites. These fully furnished suites can be leased for a minimum of three nights or as long as needed, and are offered in 700sq-ft one-bedroom, 1100sq-ft two-bedroom, or 1350sq-ft three-bedroom options. Each suite includes a full-size kitchen (full-size refrigerator, stove/oven, dishwasher), washer and dryer.

2nd Location Finalized: Anthea @ De Anza

The five commissioners of the Albuquerque Development Commission, in a unanimous vote, approved Anthea @ De Anza on March 19.  This ‘condotel’ will include a restaurant headed up by Matt DiGregory, owner of the Range Cafe and Standard Diner, as well as other amenities, similar to the Anthea project in construction in Downtown Albuquerque.

The historic De Anza property, located at 4301 Central Ave. NE in the East Nob Hill corridor, was built in 1919 and has sat vacant for years. The city bought the property in 2003 and since then it has gone through several redevelopment ideas that did not come to fruition. The property is known for its historic Zuni murals in one of the seven buildings on the property

The commissioners were persuaded by the private funding mechanism of Anthea @ De Anza  said its funding model would likely result in a quicker development time line. Bill Smith, CEO/President of Anthea LLC, said he wants the project to be completed by the end of 2016.

 

Possible 2nd Location for Anthea

We’ve put in a proposal with the City to restore the historic De Anza Motor Lodge in the Nob Hill neighborhood of Albuquerque. It was originally built in 1939 by Charles G. Wallace. It was once a significant destination on Route 66, but is now vacant.

With the Anthea @The Granite nearing its completion, we hope to grow our connection on Route 66 with the De Anza. The De Anza location would also feature fully furnished, extended stay suites. The redevelopment project would involve a combination of restoring and rebuilding the De Anza. If we acquire the De Anza location, we would be proud to restore this historic building to its former glory on Route 66.

The Granite Construction Update

Construction of the three-story Anthea @The Granite continues at 4th and Granite in Downtown Albuquerque. The framing is complete and the windows are now being installed. This 33,000 square foot building is the first of the Anthea extended stay properties.

The Granite will feature one, two and three bedroom suites ranging from 700 to 1,350 square feet. Each spacious suite will include all the conveniences of home, including a fully equipped kitchen with a full refrigerator, stacked washer/dryer, contemporary furnishings, plenty of living space, and a balcony. The Granite is the perfect spot for anyone looking for a luxurious extended stay, corporate housing, or even someone looking for a beautiful place to spend a long weekend in Albuquerque.

Anthea @The Granite Breaks Ground

There’s a lot of commotion in Downtown Albuquerque, and we’re part of it. After a successful groundbreaking today, construction has began on Downtown Albuquerque’s newest venue Anthea @The Granite, located at 4th Street and Granite on the Historic Route 66.

This venture is the vision of Bill and Anna Smith, the owners of Albuquerque’s Construct Southwest and is set to be completed in Summer 2015. Anthea @The Granite will feature fully furnished suites ranging from one to three bedrooms specifically made for extended stay and corporate housing. The Granite will also include a restaurant, to be announced.
