About Downtown

As the central business district of Albuquerque, New Mexico– the Downtown hub has a vibrant nightlife with theaters, restaurants, events and nightclubs. Located in the heart of Albuquerque’s downtown, you’ll find Civic Plaza and the Albuquerque Convention Center. Civic Plaza hosts many festive outdoor events, while the Convention Center is a multi-purpose event complex holding events from concerts to trade shows.

Situated at 1st and Central Avenue, the Alvarado Transportation Center is the hub for the city’s regional transit system. Linking ABQRide, the New Mexico Rail Runner, Amtrak and Greyhound Lines, it’s easy to travel throughout the city and New Mexico.


About Albuquerque

As the largest city in New Mexico, Albuquerque is situated in the central part of the state, straddling the Rio Grande. Albuquerque has one of the highest elevation of any major city in the US. The elevations of the city ranges from 4,900 ft to 6,700 ft above sea level.

Sunshine and blue skies define the region, averaging 278 days a year. Extended cloudiness is rare. The city has four distinct seasons, however the heat and cold are relatively mild compared to the extremes that occur in other parts of the country. Albuquerque weather is perfect for outdoor sports and activities.
